About the journal
RIMA International Journal of Historical Studies, is a bi-annual Journal of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Sokoto State University, Sokoto-Nigeria. The Journal intends to promote the study of history, from the beginning of human civilization to the contemporary period.
In particular, history of Africa and its relations with the outside world, as well as other areas of historical interest across the globe. Studies on other areas of humanities that are of historical relevance could equally be considered for publication in the journal.
Manuscript should be typed, double spacing, 12 font, not exceeding 20 pages, including notes and references. References should appear at the end of the article as endnotes where Chicago manual of style is adopted, or alternatively using author tex citation conforming 6th edition with of APA mode of citation. No part of this publication may be reproduced, transmitted, transcribed, stored in a retrieval system or translated into any form or by any means, electronically, manually or otherwise without the prior written consent of the RIMA International Journal of Historical Studies
Call For Paper
Authors should submit contributions in English, and where necessary, Arabic or Hausa languages. All submissions should be within the range of 5,000 and 8,000 words (excluding notes and references). Where appropriate, (carefully drawn) maps, photograph, tables, and other illustrations may accompany the text and should be camera-ready. Images should be supplied in their original graphic format (JPG, TIFF, etc.). An abstract of the contents of the article, not exceeding 250 words, should be included in the submission.
Preparation for Manuscript
Authors should submit contributions in English, and where necessary, Arabic or Hausa languages. All submissions should be within the range of 5,000 and 8,000 words (excluding notes and references). Where appropriate, (carefully drawn) maps, photograph, tables, and other illustrations may accompany the text and should be camera-ready. Images should be supplied in their original graphic format (JPG, TIFF, etc.). An abstract of the contents of the article, not exceeding 250 words, should be included in the submission.
Contributors should seek clarity, brevity, and simplicity of expression. Long sentences and unduly lengthy or short paragraphs should be avoided. Manuscripts should be prepared in MS Word format. They should be single line spacing throughout. Lines beginning new paragraphs should be indented. Ample margins (at least one inch left and right, one and one-half inches’ top and bottom) must be left, and all pages should be numbered. Manuscripts should not bear the name of the author(s) and should not have notes/acknowledgements that reveal the author’s identity. Acknowledgements should only be included in the manuscript after it has been accepted for publication. Author’s name, institutional affiliation and contact details and title should be provided on the cover page.
Format and Style
Manuscript should be 12 font size, times New Romans for the body and Calibri for the headings. Latest Chicago Manual of style, mode of citation and referencing or 6th edition of APA should be adopted. Authors should be consistent in the spelling they used, either British or American.
Copyright & permissions
By accepting and forwarding your article for publication in the Rima International Journal of Historical Studies (RIJHIS), you are equally transferring the entire copyright to the RIJHS. The copyright consists of all rights protected by the copyright laws of Nigeria, in all languages and forms of communication, including the right to furnish the article or the abstracts to abstracting and indexing services, and the right to republish the entire article in any format or medium. In return, the RIJHIS will grant to you, the non-exclusive right to post the published (PDF) version of your article on your personal website, and, or, republication, subject only to you seeking for clearance, and indicating, in that new publication, that the article has been published in this journal.
Processing Charges
Each subscriber pays one-time Article Processing Fee (APF) to cover the cost of peer review management and administration, editorial cost, professional transformation of the articles into PDF format, electronic composition and production, journal information system, e-archive, manuscript management system, overhead and administrative costs, and other expenses. You should note that, there are no charges for; rejected articles, submission, and inquiries. No surcharges base on number of figures or supplementary data.
